Library annex provides space for recreation programs and classes
The Queen Creek Library includes more than 19,000 square feet of shell space that is currently being used for Parks and Recreation classes. The Library Recreation Annex has increased the availability of space needed to meet current Parks and Recreation programming demands. When the Queen Creek branch library needs additional space in the future, recreation programs will be transferred to other locations as space becomes available, allowing for expansion of the library services.
To ensure that recreation program uses in the library do not negatively impact library users in terms of noise, a temporary sound wall extending up to the roof has been constructed between the two portions of the building. In addition, the space immediately adjacent to the library is used as storage, increasing the buffer between the library and the Parks and Recreation classrooms. Additionally, the Town carefully considers noise impacts when determining the kinds of programs offered during the library’s operating hours.
